What this site is

ChillVentVale is a reference. It reports what product listings state and what published documents say, with links to both. It is not an installation manual, not an engineering document, and not a substitute for the manufacturer instructions that ship with a piece of equipment.

Compatibility information has limits

Where a page says a part fits a machine, it is reporting that a listing states that fit. Listings change, sellers revise model lists, and a page here may lag behind a change. Before ordering, confirm the model code on the part in your hand against the listing you intend to buy from.

Nominal filter sizes are naming conventions, not measurements, and actual dimensions differ between manufacturers at the same nominal name. Measure the filter you have. Nothing on this site can measure it for you.

Equipment, electricity and heat

This site publishes no thermostat wiring guidance of any kind. Cut power to heating and cooling equipment at the service panel before removing an installed thermostat, use the compatibility checker the thermostat manufacturer publishes for the specific model, and hand the work to a licensed HVAC professional whenever the system is not clearly identified. Some systems, including line-voltage and millivolt systems, are not compatible with common thermostats at all, and connecting one can damage equipment.

Filter rating decisions belong to the equipment manufacturer documentation, because finer media raises resistance to airflow. Warm steam humidifiers boil water and can cause burns. Portable air conditioner exhaust must leave the building. These are stated repeatedly across the site and they are not negotiable parts of the advice.

No health claims, and no testing claims

Nothing on this site is medical advice or a health claim. Where a product listing uses language about contaminants, allergens or relief from symptoms, that language is quoted as the wording of the listing and is not restated here as a fact, a measurement, or a benefit. Questions about health belong with a physician.

No product on this site was tested, measured, or used by anyone writing it, and no page claims otherwise.

The text and layout of this site are its own work. Product names, brand names and model codes belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification. Product images are served from the retailer image host. Outbound links to Amazon are affiliate links.

This site is provided as is. Reasonable care goes into every figure on it and corrections are made promptly when reported, but no guarantee is offered that a page is complete, current, or correct for your specific equipment. Decisions you make from it are your own, and equipment decisions with safety consequences belong with a licensed professional.
