What this site is, technically

ChillVentVale is a static site. There is no account system, no login, no comment form, no newsletter, no shopping basket, and no database. Nothing on any page asks you for information and no page stores anything in your browser — there is no use of local storage or session storage anywhere on the site.

Server logs

Like any site served over the internet, requests to ChillVentVale reach a hosting provider that records standard technical information: the address the request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser user agent string. This is ordinary server operation, used to keep the site running and to understand which pages are read.

Outbound links to retailers

Product links on this site point to Amazon and carry an affiliate tag. When you follow one, you leave this site and arrive at Amazon, where Amazon own privacy practices apply — including whatever cookies or identifiers Amazon sets in order to attribute a referral. That process is Amazon, not this site, and this site receives no personal information about you as a result of it.

Links to standards bodies and government agencies — EPA, ASHRAE, the Department of Energy, CPSC, CDC, NIST and others — are ordinary links with no tag attached and no tracking added by this site.

Images

Product images are served from Amazon own image host. Loading a page that shows one results in a request to that host, in the ordinary way any external image does.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Pages about nurseries and children rooms are written for the adults buying the equipment.

Changes and questions

If this notice changes, the revision year at the top of the page changes with it. Questions can go to info@chillventvale.com.
